I’m taking a two-month break. Not just from making videos but from consuming them. I’ve deleted Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook from my phone. Sometimes you just need to cut the cord.
I plan to be back, but likely in a different form. I’ve been doing the same old thing for a while now and it’s not only got me a little tired but isn’t producing the “results” I think our Church needs. As the world adapts, so too must our approach to it, and I’m going to take this time to detox and recollect.
I’m also working on two big projects that have taken all of my time and creative energy of late, so that might be part of it. I look forward to sharing these things with you soon!

I certainly await your return Father. If you’ve ever wondered if you made a difference in somebody’s life, you have mine for sure. 🙂
God Bless!
Father take all the time you need to focus on you and your vocation.
social media is a drain I get that. Don’t forget how many your reach with your YouTube videos. I have learned so much from them. I have recommended them to people and shared them in my prayer group. Know you have made a difference and touched lives via social media
God bless,
Johnny
grateful for you Father!
Thankyou and enjoy the silence

Father Cole, Please bring the Movie Treatment of PRO, S.J. to Lillie Fini Zanuck. The beloved of the late Darryl Zanuck. My suggestion is, Father that you work from the “FROM THE HOUSETOPS” storey of Fr. Miquel Pro’s life. Enjoy the peace and silence Father. We look forward to your return.
Casey,
I have enjoyed, and indeed been nourished by sharing your journey since 2016 – when Breaking in the Habit started as a written blog !
I think you’re doing a fantastic job of sharing Franciscan spirituality and Gospel values through all you’ve done online etc. Your energy, enthusiasm and creativity are infectious. Please don’t be disheartened by any negativity which can sometimes come your way.
I hope you are rested and renewed in your time away from social media in the next 2 months. Let the Lord nourish you for all that lies ahead. I’m glad you’re not taking a permanent break and I look forward to all which still lies ahead.
Every prayer and blessing,

A Two-Way Street Retreatloyolapress.comThis quick 3MR often seems to address something God wants me to address; it seemed appropriate for you as well today. Iâm retired now, since Apr 2022 and have the Gift of longer Quiet Times

Father Casey
you will be missed but always self help is always 1st.
I will miss your videos. I am agnostic with a complex philosophical viewpoint leaning to Buddhism with Christian ethics mixed in. I found your videos a breath of common sense and very centering. Sometimes we don’t know how many we reach and change. I taught for over 30 years science in public and private school as well as outdoor education.
but, not about me it’s about you right now. Thank you for all you have done. Know that you made a difference in me .
relax and regroup and find your passion and mission and calling and your center again. Many including me will miss your talks and many will need them now. You doe me were a voice of reason in a time of conflict and discourse in people. When you are ready come back. What ever you do I know it will be helpful as you are a true person of faith and god. You shine with this everyday through your acts of love and compassion and your steadfastness toward the spreading of love.
have a great restorative break. But do please come back when you are ready as you are bailed and needed in this world.
Hello Brother Casey,
I am so happy for your comments. Yes, the Church must not be static, but rather dynamic as is all of life. If something is static it will eventually cease to exist. Thank you for taking the time to recharge and move us forward in developing more of who we were created to be. God Bless us forward.

Thank you, Father Casey – (And a high-five, a hug, and sharing a pint, too, if such were possible and appropriate).
I’m so glad to have a brother in Christ in you. Your example of leadership is helping me to be a better leader myself.
Allons-y vers la vie, mon Père!

Dear Father Casey. You are someone who I admire very much. I stumbled onto you a few years back and always enjoyed your writing, witt and use of both humor and concern. You even sent me one of your books due to a free drawing for your readers. I am now a 76 year old retired teacher, student, writer, advocate, and blessed lay Carmelite. The iPad I am using now has your St Francis sticker, sent by you early on and a reminder to me regards peace and goodness. Your concern and your Faith in Jesus gives me hope..but I certainly can see where you would be burned out. I have written a few articles for the Carmelite Institute in Washington which they have published as well as a magazine we call “Carmelite Witness” for isolated third order men and women ( which is quarterly). As odd as this might be…I have a cut out from your online showing your feet in sandals, next to it I have a photo of St. Teresa of Kolkata’s arthritic and bent around feet in her sandals..on really rough days ( I work at three “nursing homes” as a chaplain ( and bingo caller ) as well as being a Minister of Care.
I really felt you needed to know ( as I’m sure you do, there are others who have similar experiences as you and can offer you , I hope, a sense of solidarity and love in Jesus and his mother…and St Pio my buddy and champion.
I will remember you in my prayers and pray in my Rosary intentions for you, if it means anything to help comfort you, I am a real live Vatican II believer who happens to have moved to the former diocese of Cardinal Burke and it IS difficult trying to live into what I believe we should be!
Thank you Fr. Casey for all the work you have done during these eight years when you started with Breaking In The Habit .
You will be missed
will be missed. Lots of blessings
Good move. I just canceled my Twitter account and deleted the app. I also unsubscribed from a number of YouTube channels. I feel much more at peace now. Things were getting toxic. It was messing with my peace of mind and heart and rubbing off on me.
I will be praying for you and your efforts. I listen to many other Catholics on the internet (Barron, Kelly, Augustine Institute, Schmitz and Stefanick) you are consistently my favorite. I’m a 62 year old retired Army officer and your messages resonant with me. I’m looking forward to your new projects. You have a lot on your plate. Take that break. Don’t burn out. You are right to take care of yourself first never forget that. I do want you to know that what you do matters.
Thank you Father Casey for all you have done and will continue to do to bring hearts to Jesus. Blessings on your future endeavors and may the Holy Spirit guide your path.
Make sure you return wearing your Habit. 😁🙏🇨🇦
Take care of yourself ❤️ I appreciate everything you do and I hope you enjoy your break!!
