About Me
My name is Casey Cole, and I am an aspiring member of the Order of Friars Minor (OFM). In 2011, I graduated from Furman University with a degree in Religious Studies, and a concentration (similar to a minor) in Poverty Studies. While there, I spent most of my time outside of studies involved in campus ministry and playing for the University’s club baseball team. I enjoy hiking, playing golf, photography, listening to music (DMB), and engaging in critical dialogues about religion, philosophy, society, politics, or other social concerns.

Hi! I will keep you in my prayers for your discernment. I am still praying and discerning whether I am called to enter the religious life. May our Lord Bless you, keep you, and may His face continue to shine upon you. AMDG

Hi Br. Casey, I’m from a church that used to be part of Holy Name Province. I miss the friars terribly, but keep up with friar news on FB, which is where I found you. I just sent a link to your blog to a FB friend in Amsterdam who is studying to become a Franciscan sister. Know that you and the other friars in formation remain in my prayers. I know Fr. Brian Smail by email. Ask him about the top 10 things about being a friar from Mary Louise.
Yours in Christ,
Mary Louise

Im a Franciscan Brother serving in the Holy Land Custody and in my 25th year from initial Vows. Your outlook in the process of inital formation is very refreshing! I enjoyed reading the jokes and will recycle them with the other Friars who I meet here in Jericho. God bless you.
